The idea behind the Tattoo Circus is to do an anti-prison festival which is organised on a non-commercial base and which rests on solidarity. This means, that every single person taking part to the Circus (artists, cleaning-/ bar-/ cooking-people, organisation crew, etc.) is giving her time, energy and creativity for the cause and not in order to get any kind of individual profit.
EVERY CENT EARNED DURING THE FESTIVAL GOES DIRECTLY TO EXISTING STRUCTURES AND GROUPS FIGHTING AGAINST CARCERAL SYSTEM!!!
By getting a tattoo, piercing or buying some merch and artwork or even food and drinks, you’ll support the anti-prison struggle and be in solidarity with the inmates.
How does it work?
During the 3 days of the Circus, a bunch of experienced tattoo-, piercing- and body modification artists will be there to provide you with great new body adornment.
The whole is happening in a sanitized environment and all artists, as well as the cleaning and organisation staff submit themselves to strict hygiene rules.
Doors open daily at 11AM and close at 10PM.
To get tattooed:
You should bring a picture of what you want, the artist might change some details or the style, but there will not be time for long drawing-sessions!
So it’s fair for everyone and we can raise a maximum of money for the inmates, we’ll ask you to chose a motive which can be quickly overworked and made inwithin max 3 hours.
Artists taking part to the Circus won’t be named in advance and the appointments will only be given on the day for the day in question. There will be daily lists where you can sign in to get tattooed… so come as early as possible.
To get pierced:
Also, experienced piercing and body modification artists are going to be there for you. Pass by and check it out!
The tattoo and piercing area is a work space! Please behave properly and respect the artists!
